Control of DC/AC Inverter Current to Minimize the Current Error Vector
 By Sikorski A., Ruszczyk A.

 [Download]
Abstract: An idea of DC/AC converter control method minimising the current vector error area is described in the paper. The method is based on a predictive controller operating with constant switching frequency. The optimal position of the converter output voltage vector is chosen basing on infor-mation about direction of current error vector changes. This optimal voltage vector moves the real current vector to the its command value ensuring the minimal speed of its changes. Computer simu-lation results confirming this method of control are presented in the article.

Abstract: In this paper a drive for induction generators connected with a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) converter is presented. Then it is implemented on two industrial boards: one with a Digital Signal Processor (DSP), the other one with a Microcontroller. The whole device is intended for variable speed applications. A scalar drive controlling solely the voltage amplitude and the frequency of the generator is proposed. The paper is divided into three parts: 1. First it recalls the induction generator theory, a theory much more complex than the motor theory. Nevertheless it is shown that the same kind of scalar drive may be used both with a generator and a motor. 2. Then the scalar drive is implemented with two different methods (DSP and microcontroller). 3. Finally the results are presented in only two ways: the current regulation at a variable speed and the effect of the slip frequency on the power factor with a constant stator frequency.

Abstract: This contribution shows the state of the art of serial products and the reasons for using a completely digital drive control. New servo drive products show that the commutation of analogue to digital drive control is now completed even in industrial products with high production quantities. The way for modern control algorithms in industrial servo drives is now open.

Abstract: This paper deals with the principles of an analysis of the drives with oscillating synchronous motors in the steady-state regime. These principles are given by the sample of the drive of the oscillating synchronous pulsating current motor and piston compressor. Both elements of the drive are non-linear systems, therefore one could calculate them by numerical modelling (in Mathcad software). Some data of real motor are presented. The described method could be applied for analysing of different drives with oscillating motors.

Abstract: The intention of this work is to introduce a traction drive for a special application, which can be scaled in power, torque and speed range. The main goal is to develop an accurate simulation model of the AC machine and a power converter, including the gear and the drive train which can be easy extended. To enhance the accuracy of the models, electromagnetic non-linear effects are introduced. The properties of the presented models and the scaling of the whole drive system will be verified for a standard converter machine system and an optimised machine.

Abstract: In the paper models for different configuring schemes of multi-motor machines and mechanisms with hard and elastic bond of drive motor shafts are created. Parameters that have influence to motors load distribution are set, and analytical expressions for these load calculation are obtained. It has let to reveal and to prove rational methods of uniform distribution of loads between motors. Experimentally confirmed results of the article were used at development of two National Standards of Ukraine, namely: DSTU 3886-99 Energy saving. Electric Drive Systems Method of Selection and Calculation. and N 0195U025335 Belt Conveyors. Drive Selection and Calculating Method.

The Use of FPGAs to Build an AC Drive Specific Hardware - Software Library. The Case of Park's Transformations

Abstract: This paper presents a new integrated circuit realization of the Park's transformations. This module is implemented on a single field-programmable gate array (FPGA). The memory containing trigonometric patterns, which is traditionally loaded in auxiliary circuits, is also implemented in the same FPGA in our application. This autonomous dedicated core-function can be profitably used in the area of AC drives control. The realized module has been tested by integrating it in a modular architecture (also using FPGAs) performing the simultaneous current vector control of four AC machines. Experimental results are given to verify the implemented circuit.

Abstract: Working regions of an adjustable-speed power unit with a doubly fed machine connected to the power grid are determined. Analytical relations for the control range of the rotor voltage phasor due to the maximal permissible values of currents and voltages of the machine and supply cycloconverter are presented. The results of simulation are shown to illustrate the operation of the system with vector control.
