![]() | Development of a simplified supply for diphased piezoelectrics motors
By C.Henaux; JF.Rouchon; B.Nogarede
Abstract: The annular travelling wave piezoelectric has very attractive characteristics where high efforts, low speed, accuracy and silent running are necessary. To make the best of the advantages of this type in the field of position control, while offering a system suitable for mass-production, it must be associated with a minimum cost supply system. Bearing in mind the constraints inherent to the supply of capacitive armature piezoelectrics which work under high voltage at ultrasonic frequencies, a novel optimal electronic supply principle for travelling waves is presented and its characteristics compared to those of existing solutions.

![]() | Model and Control of a travelling wave ultrasonic motor
By F. Giraud; B. Lemaire-Semail; J-P. Hautier
Abstract: The paper proposes a model of a piezoelectric TWUM adapted to its control. The model described by
a Causal Ordering Graph is first established using the amplitudes of the two stationary waves.
Transient operations and steady state experimental results check the validity of the model. A control
scheme is then proposed in a rotating reference frame.
