Abstract: Common-mode current suppression using magnetic cores is an effective EMC technique in the variable-speed drive systems employed in railway-vehicle traction. In this study, a 750 W induction motor was used to emulate a railway vehicle traction system and investigate the effective application of these cores.

Abstract: In DC-electrified railways, light-load regenerative brake control restricts regenerative power not to occur the overvoltage of the traction inverter. This study clarifies the design method of the control system, which has enough stability and responsivity, to restrict regenerative power based on the load power.
