Abstract: In normal conditions, the six power switches of a voltage-source inverter are commanded in a symmetrical way. If, due to a fault, one of the switches, eg. an IGBT, refuses to conduct, an induction machine connected to tlus inverter will- without special measures- exhibit" under most conditions a very deteriorated operation. Using a special control strategy, the behaviour of the drive can be improved considerably, so tl1at continued operation of the drive might be possible. Simulations and experiments show the feasibility of such a control, but also its limitations.

Abstract: An induction motor driven by a non-sinusoidal PWM voltage generates torqueripple. In multimotor drive with common shaft operation the particular torque-ripples sum up by "stiff' mechanical coupling between machines. An influence of control of the particular inverter on the resultant torque-ripple is investigated. The resultant torque-ripple for two inverter-fed motors for differently situated modulating signals and carrier signals are produced.

Abstract: In an electrical drive, each power element is disturbed by the harmonics produced by the others. The general behavior of the drive is affected. With an adapted computation method, the voltage and currents spectra are calculated to analyze the coupling effects in different cases.

Abstract: In induction motors supplied from PWM invertersrters appear additional phenomena which do not arise in normal supply from mains. These phenomena are: induced voltage at frame of insulated motors; earth currents in grounded motors; shaft voltages; bearing currents. Trondheim These phenomena are caused by following reasons: existance of capacitance from stator windings to the rotor end stator iron and change of values of common mode voltages in motor windings. In the paper is present analysis of these phenomena and results of the researchs.
