Abstract: In the context of galvanic isolation integration, a new control mode for thyristor has been developed. Instead of a pulse shaped signal, a high frequency sine signal is used for thyristor control. This new control signal enables to switch on the thyristor through a charge accumulation phenomenon in the structure. Experiments and simulations have been performed to understand precisely the phenomenon and the mechanism sequence leading to the device switching on.
