Abstract: In this paper a new high voltage busbar design is presented. This new design consists in inserting two specialised zones with specific permitivity and permeability. These zones allow to control the evolution of voltage or current during the switching. The controled parameters are the increasing and decreasing slopes of current and voltage, voltage and current spikes and oscillations damping. This control mitigates the electromagnetic emissions. The capacitive zone is made using a high permittivity ferroelectric dielectric and the inductive zone with a small flat ferrite core. The capacitive zone acts on electric field and voltages slopes, whereas, the inductive zone acts on current slopes and spikes. The sizes and the electricals caracteristics are designed to reduce convertor electromagnetic emissions. This new busbar improves also losses in the IGBT.
