![]() | Energy Saving and Energy Audit in Electric Drive Systems: Practical Aspects and Educational Methodology
By Mamalyga V.M., Mikolaenko V.M.*, Kruglyak V.N.**
Abstract: The paper shows technical and economical aspects of energy audit and energy management that are actual at present, and the methodology of training it. A number of practical recommendations concerning energy saving projects availability estimation has worked out. Recommendations about rational drive types selection, that was proven to be true by practice, are presented. Results of this work have used in two National Standards of Ukraine developing, namely:DSTU 3886-99 Energy saving. Electric Drive Systems. Method of selection and calculation and No. 0195U025335 Belt Conveyors. Drive Selection and Calculation Method.

![]() | Some Circuit Theory Based Concepts of Power Electronics
By Flegar I. | |
Abstract: Two basic concepts of power electronics, power conversion device and power control by means of power conversion devices are derived from circuit theory by using the principle of power balance at each frequency and Tellegen's theorem respectively. Power conversion devices are thought of as transformers of power at frequency. It is shown that any power conversion device exhibiting quasi-active property is capable to control the amount of transformed power. Basic power conversion functions as well as conversion properties of basic power conversion device are explained. All properties are derived disregarding the internal structure of particular power conversion networks.

![]() | Testing Equipment with Load Torque Programmable Simulation
By Novák J., Gregora S.*
Abstract: The paper describes the device for the testing of the drive machines - the electromotors or the engines. This dynamometer is realized with the frequency controlled asynchronous motor. The torque of the dynamometer is set up with the simulation program. This system enables the variable modeling of the various load types.
