Abstract: This paper presents a bi-directional DC-DC converter between a 48 V-electrolyzer/fuel cell combination and a 400 V battery. For a bi-directional DC-DC converter with 5 kW nominal power, two common topologies, LLC and Dual Active Bridge in full-bridge designs, are compared with respect to different criteria, such as semiconductor stress and component size.
