Abstract: The paper deals with the control design of aircraft starter-generator system based on permanentmagnet machine fed by active front end rectifier. The analysis of the starter-generator system can besplit into 2 parts; starter and generator mode. Their respective control structures are proposed alongwith mathematical equations that represent the power system. Direct current field weakening methodis selected for this high speed application while DC current control is considered during the generatormode. The nature of dynamic limiter employed along with the field weakening controller creates 2states of operation. Linearized open loop plant models for both starter and generator modes arederived. The plants are verified with equivalent linear and non-linear Simulink models. Appropriatecontrollers are designed based on the closed loop analysis.

Abstract: This paper proposes a high performance control method with Multi-CPU synchronous, time-delay and feedforward compensation for High-Speed Maglev. The proposed control strategies are verified on Real-Time simulation platform with Hardware-In-Loop. The experimental results demonstrate that by using the proposed methods the high-speed maglev can be operated in a whole speed range from 0 to 500km/h.

Abstract: A new concept that integrates a permanent magnet (PM) synchronous motor (PMSM) and a 2-step planetary gearbox for heavy machinery electric traction is introduced. A clear need for this kind of a solution is recognized in the field of diesel-electric hybrid off-road vehicles as electrical machine cannot fulfill alone all the demands of the typical load cycles of working machines. The technology introduced also suits in some road vehicle use e.g. for buses or trucks. The benefits of the solution are pointed out and its functionality is proven by simulations. The dynamic performance of the driveline is analyzed using a co-simulation approach that accounts the mechanical system and the dynamics of the control system.

Abstract: The reduced semiconductor voltage stress makes the multilevel inverters especially interesting, whendriving capacitive transducers for audio applications. A ± 300 V flying capacitor class D audio amplifierdriving a 100 nF load in the midrange region of 0.1-3.5 kHz with Total Harmonic Distortion plus Noise(THD+N) below 1 \% is presented.
