![]() | New Bidirectional Three-Phase Buck- + Boost-Type PFC Rectifier for Bipolar DC Distribution Systems
By Thiago SOEIRO, Marcelo HELDWEIN
Abstract: This paper presents new three-phase high power factor ac grid interface circuits appropriate for futurebipolar dc active distribution networks. The ac-to-dc power converter concept is constructed bycombining a six-switch buck-type PFC converter and a bipolar dc-dc boost-type inverting-link circuit. The characteristics of this concept, including an appropriate modulation and control structure, aredescribed in this paper. Simulation results validate the circuit operation.

By Daniel SCHOFIELD, Abuzed SAMI, David STONE, Martin FOSTER, Daniel ROGERS, James GREEN
Abstract: This paper proposes and investigates the second life application of computer power supplies for PVapplications. The emphasis is on reclamation and reuse of operational power supply components andcircuits. Results shown verify operational limits of the power supply validating its suitability for PVMPPTsystems.

![]() | Temperature and energy efficiency optimization in multi-phase induction heating systems
By Julie EGALON, Stephane CAUX, Olivier PATEAU, Pascal MAUSSION
Abstract: Multiphase induction heating is a powerful solution for industrial metal heating. An innovative andoptimized combination of the supply currents which is presented in this paper, looks for improving thetemperature profile. The resonant inverter and inductor losses of this given structure are calculated foreach optimized solution and lead to a maximization of the efficiency.
