Abstract: This paper describes a power amplifier system for testing of distance relay operating characteristic. This power amplifier is based on two three phase inverters with a neutral wire. The output power currents and voltages are controlled by a sliding mode controller. A developed matlab/simulink digital simulator generates the test signals. This test signals are converted in current and voltage references using a microcontroller to connect the digital simulator to the power converter amplifier. Experimental results from a laboratory prototype are presented and discussed.

Abstract: This paper presents electronic ballast that can supply five independent high press sodium lamps. The main contributions are as the follows: Half-bridge topology is used, putting one LCC out filter to each lamp of the ballast, parallel distributed between both switch, frequency sweep method was used to start up the five lamps. It is possible to supply any numbers (<5) of lamps. A lighting system with this kind of ballast gains the merits of low system cost and more flexibility when compared with conventional systems. The description of the lighting system, practical analysis and experimental results are included in this paper.

Abstract: A Micro-controller-based dimmable electronic ballast for HPS lamps is presented in this paper. An easier and low-cost power control method is proposed in this paper, based on the regulation of the average input current of the inverter. Driving signal with low frequency modulation generated from MCU is used to eliminate unstable arc during dimming state. Experimental results for the commercial HPS lamp Philips NAV250 show the feasibility of the proposed ballast..

Abstract: This paper describes a research of maintenance system and development of new control and operation diagnostics of KT4 type trams in Tallinn (Estonia). System operation modes and diagnostic methods were studied during hard- and software development of trams. Also it gives a short overview of used methods, integrations problems and profitability calculation.
