![]() | Common mode voltage cancellation in systems containing 3-phase adding transformer with PWM excitation

Abstract: This paper addresses to EMC-related problems of an application of three-phase transformers fed from
PWM inverters e.g. in the systems with active filters or UPFC (Unified Power Flow Controller). It has
been shown that it is possible to significantly suppress common mode EMI noises by means of the known
passive EMI filter having sinusoidal output voltage and zero CM voltage, which had been earlier
successfully applied in ASD’s.
