Abstract: Possibility of realization of physical model of a superconducting coil (PhMSC) is described and analyzed in the paper. A physical model can be used to testing Power Conditioning Systems (PCS) instead of the superconducting coil(SC). As a physical model, a serial connection of coil and controlled voltage source is used. By means of controlling of an additional source resistance and inductance of emulated superconducting coil can be changed. Analysis of physical model, simulation and experimental results are presented in the paper. Results described in the paper are part of CRAFT project -HIPOLITY (5th FP).

Abstract: This paper describes a real-time simulator of wind turbine generator system suitable for controller design and test. The simulated generator is a grid-connected doubly fed induction machine with vector controlled back-to-back PWM voltage source inverter at the rotor. The simulator is based on RT-LAB real-time simulation platform that allows for easy model-to-real-time-target implementation from Simulink models. The paper puts special emphasis on the problematic of fixed-step simulation of kHz-range PWM inverter drives and the techniques used in the real-time simulator to accurately simulate those drives.

Abstract: Due to the arising liberalization and deregulation of the electric energy market, the demand on AC-transmission system are steadily growing. Therefore, also more sophisticated AC-system controllers are highly needed. This paper is focusing on one of these topologies, the two-levels voltage source inverter (Statcom), which might become an interesting high power circuit for transmission applications. A steady state and transient stability model with GTO thyristors is proposed. Simulations are carried out in a 9 bus, 3 machines AC system. The proposed model is suitable in power system studies that require accurate representation as transient stability, voltage stability …etc.
