 Abstract   In this paper, a sort of design scheme for full-digital spindle machine drives based on DSP is presented and a series of optimizing strategies are also proposed to improve its performance. To guarantee the rapid response and the steady operation of the spindle machine, an indirect vector control strategy is used in the system. For the sake of facilitating the implementation of the full-digital system and to increase the utilization ratio of busbar voltage, an improved space vector pulse width modulation control strategy is adopted in the system. To enhance the load capability of the motor in flux-weakening region and to spread the operating interval of the motor under constant power, an optimized flux-weakening control strategy with maximized utilization of voltage is taken. At last, the experimental results of the spindle drives show the scheme is feasible and the required performance can be achieved.
