| Abstract |
Railways in several countries in Europe are operated with a 15kV 16 2/3Hz resp 16,7 Hz. These systems are often supplied from the 50Hz three-phase system by static frequency converters (SFC). The disadvantages related to the single-phase converter transformer are itemized. Transformerless topologies with corresponding power semiconductors are given and evaluated. |
