   Implementation of Disturbance Observers in Speed Controlled Electric Drives   [View]

 Abstract   Increasing demands on the efficiency and quality of production have emphasized the need to develop better control systems for electric drives. A simple PID controller does not fulfill the performance requirements e.g. in motion control applications. A feed-forward function in the controller increases the bandwidth of the control loop. Load disturbances can be approximated with a disturbance observer using input-output measurements. In this study a structure of a disturbance observer is described and its performance is analyzed with simulations and measurements.
