| Abstract |
The design of analog controllers for switched-mode power converters (SMPCs) can be a time consuming and error prone phase of the entire design. Even if the power stage parameters are well known, the controller design can be slow, iterative process. The designer has to assume some controller parameter values and calculate others. In order to better satisfy the bandwidth, phase and gain margin requirements, it is usually necessary to try different initial values and calculate repeatedly. The graphical user interface (GUI) presented in this paper can help in the SMPC controller design by calculating and displaying the converter and controller transfer functions, the control system's loop gain, bandwidth, phase and gain margins for any given combination of controller parameters. |
