Abstract |
The paper deals with a 100 kW permanent-magnet
synchronous motor of the inset-magnet type for a hybrid electric
vehicle. The motor characteristics are evaluated by finite
element analysis and driving simulations. The optimization
of the motor is based on an objective function including the
energy losses, weights and production costs of the electric
drivetrain, as well as the amount of batteries required in a
pure-electric operation. The experimental motor has a high
efficiency in a wide operating region. A calorimetric method
is used for measuring the losses af the machine. |
