Abstract |
This paper presents the results of radiated emission tests performed on personal computers (PCs) and
the associated power supplies. The primary aim of these tests was to investigate the possibility to demonstrate the compliance of the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
requirements of a PC using the modular concept, in other
words, if the equation CE+CE=CE is true at a product level. This study proves that configuring a PC from compliant sub units and components will not automatically mean that the PC complies. The power supply is the source of radiated interference only in the low frequencies (below 200 MHz)
and the highest notable interference frequency is the half waveleth resonance frequency of the power cable. |
