Abstract |
The objectives of this paper are twofold: The first
objective is to promote an approach based on space vector
theory to analyze steady state operation of induction
machines in the first course on this subject. The second
objective is to show that the steady state analysis based on
space-vector-theory allows a physical explanation of vector
control. By simplifying its explanation, vector control can be
taught, at least qualitatively, in the first course on electric
drives to a relatively large number of students, potentially
resulting in more applications of vector control, and further
research and innovation. |
