| Abstract |
The voltage distortion can be a critical matter in the electrical networks of ships having dieselelectric propulsion systems. Filters can be used to lower the distortion level. Simulation is a good tool in determining the need of filters and in designing them.
In this article passive filter theory is handled briefly.
The network of a cable laying ship having PWM-propulsion
and filters is modelled and simulated. The results are
compared with measurements. Results are in good agreement. |
