| Abstract |
This paper presents a simplified model for the inductance of
slotless machines. The need for a simple model is forced by
the fact that the model is to be used in an optimization
program, and a complex model would require too much
computing time. A model for the end-winding inductance is
also included. The presented model is compared to FEM
calculations and measurements on a prototype machine. The
comparison show that the simplified model can be used. The
iron losses in the end-shields are also discussed and it is
shown that these losses can be a substantial part of the total
iron losses. |
