Abstract |
The Line-Start Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (LSPM) considered are high-efficient motors with permanent magnets buried in the rotor below a squirrel cage. The paper deals with the design procedure developed for this type of Line-Start PM Motors. This procedure is a step-by-step method. The goals are high efficiency, starting capabilities and synchronization. This procedure deals only with the rotor design. Most of the design criteria are based on experience from previous prototypes. The designed motors have been verified with F.E.M. Very good agreement between F.E.M. and the analytical model is pointed out. However, this accuracy reduces with the level of saturation of the first tooth in front the magnet and the number of poles. |
