Abstract |
This paper will present the procedure of small-signal
modeling of input dynamics of a peak-current-mode
controlled buck converter. A new methodology of modeling
peak-current-mode control is briefly reviewed. A two-port
representation of a convert is derived with relevant transfer
functions and compared to existing models. The presented
models predict well the input dynamics of a buck converter.
The input admittance behaves as expected up to controller
cut- off frequency. The propagation of fast output current
pulses will require good dynamics from the down stream
converters and can cause easily EMI problems e.g. in
distributed power supply systems. The sensitivity to proper
filter design is also obvious. |
