| Abstract |
This paper investigates ve di erent
energy systems for propulsion of wire drawn ferries.
Four of the propulsion methods use a combination
of batteries and fuel while the fth is solely based
on fuel. In the comparison, the consumption of fuel
and electrical energy is compared and an estimate
on the yearly costs are given, including maintenance
and depreciation. From an economic point of view
it is concluded that the best suited solution is a
diesel electric propulsion system without batteries. |
