Abstract |
Small-signal modeling of switched-mode converters dates back to early 70's, when teh state-space averaging (SSA) method was introduced for assessing the dynamics of direct-duty-ratio controlled converters in continuous conduction mode (CCM). It turned out that the SSA method could not be applied directly to model discontinuous mode (DCM) of operation or other control methods such as current-mode control. We will present in this paper a unified approach to model direct-duty-ration control valid both in CCM and DCM. The technique is extended to modeling of current-mode control but only peak-current-mode control is explicitly covered in CCM. |
