Abstract |
Sensorless control of PMSM at low and zero speed requires injection of a test signal to extract information on rotor position. Two methods are commonly used for this excitation: the INFORM method and injection of a high frequency carrier signal. This paper describes the comparison of the two types excitation signals applied to a prototype axial flux PMSM. The paper gives an evaluation of what excitation that would be preferred for the specified prototype machine. |
