New High-Speed CPU Modules and Versatile Micromodules for Power Electronics and Motion Control Applications

Abstract |
A flexible architecture of advanced digital control system (DLH) is presented. The system is designed for controlling power electronic converters of various, even very complex architectures requiring real-time processing of sophisticated control algorithms. The idea is based on advanced integrated circuits dedicated for signal processing: digital signal processors (DSP) and programmable logic devices (CPLD/FPGA). The paper summarizes basic features of high-performance DSPs. New designs of high-speed CPU modules equipped with the latest DSPs and CPLDs/FPGAs are described in details. A novel architecture of ìDLH micromodules family is introduced. The ìDLH micromodules are deditcated for the basic DLH flexible control system support, for simple autonomous applications and educational purposes. The most important features of DSP controllers are summarized and ìDLH micromodules are discussed. Selected application examples of DLH system and future designs are presented. |
