Abstract |
The target of any energy management strategy is to
prioritize real-time power requests from the loads and allocate
power resources available from the generation and storage
devices in an optimized manner in order to minimize fuel
consumption and/or emissions. The paper deals with the
application of the optimal control theory for the reduction of the
fuel consumption in a conventional vehicle. The results show a
reduction of 2% in fuel use. The strategy can be applied also for
hybrid vehicles and also for minimizing both fuel consumption
and emissions. |
