A regenerative, passive snubber design for industrial IGBT power modules

Abstract |
Paper deals with a novel, passive snubber topology
suitable for modern, IGBT power modules for both chopper and
half-bridge based designs. The exclusive circuit topology exhibits
a unique property of the switching energy recovery. It’s compact
design and passive construction makes it an interesting alternative
to existing, classical snubber designs for modern, industrial,
IGBT power modules. Three different circuit topologies are discussed
exhibiting slightly different properties. Theoretical and
simulation analyses are presented, test measurement results and
waveforms are summarized. |
