Simulation and design of a hybrid vehicle: failure and safety management

Abstract |
This paper proposes to study an experimental series hybrid heavy vehicle (ECCE) which power system consists on two generator units: the first one (diesel ICE + alternator MT1-AL1) is of 80kW of power and it works at a constant speed and the second one (diesel ICE + alternator MT2-AL2) having 80kW of power works at a variable speed mode. Both units supply a DC bus for which the voltage is fixed at 540V (±270V) by a pack of batteries (BAT). This 12 tons electric truck has four independent driving wheels (4x30kW) supplied from the DC bus through four inverters. This paper will focus on safety and failure management. |
