Abstract |
Maintaining the required quality of service in a
large interconnected power network requires an appropriate
maintenance structure. Many of the distributed power network
management systems existing at present monitor dynamic
events that occur in the electrical field using remote telemetry
units (RTUs) and provide information to human operators to
perform appropriate maintenance tasks. In this paper, we
propose an agent based distributed management system
(called ABDMS) for management of electricity network, that
can handle many of the issues associated with today’s
electrical power systems. The main advantage of the proposed
system is that it allows operators and managers to be assisted
with their tasks as agents handle the responsibility of many
of the management issues in a more automated manner. We
identify several tasks that the system can perform, propose one
agent for each set of tasks, and discuss in detail the function
of Fault Prediction agent in the ABDMS system. |
