Abstract |
Wind energy is one of the most important and
promising sources of renewable energy all over the world. The
doubly fed induction machine is an important component of wind
turbine systems. These generators are displaced in quite
inaccessible areas so it is necessary to provide them with a
remote monitoring system in order to avoid undesirable
operating conditions and to detect and diagnose incipient faults.
The behaviour of the generator is influenced by the control
system, so the diagnostic indexes usually utilized for mains
supplied machines are no longer reliable. In this paper
simulations and experimental results show that the spectra of
rotor input modulating signals have suitable features that can
lead to an effective diagnostic procedure. |
