   A Novel Optimal Controller for Tracking of Reference Compensating Currents of Parallel Active Filter   [View]

 Abstract   This paper proposes a new optimal feedback controller for tracking of reference compensating current of a parallel active filter (PAF). The new controller compensates the harmonics of current produced by non-linear loads. Also the proposed controller will compensate the load reactive power. This controller will generate the switching pattern of PAF by minimizing the objective function J that is the difference between actual and reference compensating currents. The mathematical model of PAF will be addressed in detail. Reference current is calculated by instantaneous positive sequence of load currents and utility voltages with PQ theory. Simulation results and theoretical details are presented to show the validity of proposed strategy.
