Abstract |
Multiconverter systems are usually used for high power applications. In these cases a general and modular approach represents the best solution from control strategy viewpoint. Among modulation strategies, current techniques should be preferred as they allow high dynamic performances. Hysteresis current modulation strategies are characterised by the best performances in terms of dynamic response. Its main drawback is the variable switching frequency which increases power losses. The present paper proposes a discrete-time predictive modulation strategy, which can be applied to multi-switching converters. This method is an unconventional current modulation technique characterized by fixed frequency, high dynamic performances and pre-calculated commutation instants, which can be applied to current controlled voltage source converters. |
