| Abstract |
The ability to use 1200V IGBTs in a 600Vac motor drive has the potential to reduce product size/cost. The challenge is to adequately control the switching of the IGBT avoiding over-voltage. The application of 1200V IGBTs is assessed and a solution to the over-voltage problems given using active gate drivers. |
