This paper describes a study concerning the reduction of the vibrations of an induction machine, supplied by a high power PWM inverter. First, we introduce the vibration sources in electricalmachines. Then we present two methods to modelize the vibrations, specially in consideration with thecurrent and voltage supply. The noise and vibrations measurements, realized on marine electricalpropulsion induction machine, show several interactions between vibrations and power supplywaveforms. This point explain that some PWM supply configurations are optimum considering avibration level criterion. We conclude by presenting an optimal PWM strategy, and clarifying the maindrive vibration sources. |
