Abstract |
The paper presents variable speed generation system producing standardised 400V/230V/50Hz voltage. An internal combustion engine (Diesel engine) is driving a permanent magnet axial flux generator. An AC/AC power electronic system converts variable frequency and amplitude the permanent magnet generator AC voltage to the standardised AC voltage. The axial flux generator is very short, light, shaftless and bearingless. The generator is integrated to the engine without any flywheel. Laboratory tests of 40kVA genset shows steady state and transient operation. There are cases related to stand alone (autonomous) and distorted voltage grid connection. |
