Abstract |
A noble compact driving inverter with a small two-winding reactor for piezo-electric transformer
is proposed, which is very appropriate for back-light system of cold cathode fluorescent lamp (CCFL)
used in liquid crystal displays (LCD) for portable devices such as the notebook type PC or personal
digital assistants (PDA). Also, the suitable Pulse frequency modulation (PFM) control strategy is presented
and its validity is confirmed experimentally. As a result, it is revealed from the experiments that
the proposed driving inverter enables to realize a stabilized 400V ac output and 82% power efficiency
from 3V dc input under the conditions of +/-20% variation of the load current and/or input voltage,
and that the dimmer control can be performed with 80% or more power efficiency. |
