Reduction of capacitive losses in ZVT power converters

Abstract |
In this paper, the operation of Zero
Voltage Transition (ZVT) power converters is
studied by taking into account auxiliary device
parasitic capacitance. An improved auxiliary
network based on introducing two small diodes
is proposed to reduce capacitive losses. The idea
was evaluated on a breadboard prototype
switched at 1.4 MHz frequency. An efficiency
improvement from 5 to 25% was achieved over
the full load range. |
