 Abstract   This paper describes the development of vector control of fixed frequency current controlled PWM inverter fed synchronous motor drive. The objective is to study the feasibility of the implemented scheme for the vector control of fixed frequency Current controlled PWM inverter fed selfcontrolled synchronous motor for unity power factor operation with high performance. A mathematical model and a digital control principal for controlling the synchronous motor are described. A systematic simulation in simulink is carried out for verifying the feasibility of theoretical modeling and controller design. An experimental prototype system is constructed for correlating with the theoretical results. The experimental results closely follow simulated results, thus validating the proposed control method.
