Abstract |
This paper presents a modular SPICE implantation of
a squirrel cage induction motor drive. A simple modelling
approach for motor model is proposed with the aid of the
Analogue Behavioural Models (ABM) library provided in
OrCad-PSPICE. This expands the distinguished ability of
SPICE simulation to not only simulate discrete device electronic
circuits very accurately but also to simulate transient models for
electrical machines. The motor model developed in this paper is
based on the state-space equations derived in the synchronous
reference frame. An application example of a direct start-up of
an induction motor drive is presented. The transient
characteristics of some of the motor variables are presented and
compared with those obtained in MATLAB/SIMULINK. |
