Abstract |
Tactile-graphical devices (tactile displays) are used for
presentations of graphics to visually impaired persons. The
patented tactile display consists of plurality of independently
controllable actuator elements that are able to exert forces to the
user's finger surface. In this work we present a graph-analytical
method to check the time of setting and resetting of shape memory
alloy (SMA) wire for applications as actuators in tactile displays to
visually impaired people. Calculation results are compared with
experimental data. Analysis results can be used to construct a
natural display model. Such a model has advantages in reliability,
costs and simplicity, compared to known analogues models. It is a
step to bring shape memory actuators closer to the market. It allows
fabrication of high resolution tactile Braille displays by using
advantages of SMA wires. |
