 Abstract   This paper deals with new and innovative methods to minimize the cogging torque of transverse flux motors. These approaches are based on the current wave form optimized for each phase of a two-phase transverse flux motor. The presented technique can be applied also to conventional machine types as, for example synchronous motors or switched reluctance motors.
