Abstract |
The paper describes design and basic properties of
high frequency high coupled coaxial transformer – CHC – with
sectional winding and magnetic core. The windings of transformer
are coaxially arranged. Two types of transformer windings
are investigated. The first type is the inner winding of
transformer as solid pipe while the outer one consists of split
pipe. Each section of split pipe is twisted around pipe circumference
and the end of first turn is beginning of the next one.
The second type of the transformer consists of split inner winding
while outer one is also split or is a solid pipe. The resulting
properties of transformer are compared with properties of spiral
CHC coaxial transformer (where windings are solid pipes). The
nanotechnology is needed to manufacturing of the transformer.
The transformer has very good coupling between windings, low
leakage inductance, high efficiency, above 98%, and very high
power density, above 100 kW/kg at 1MHz of frequency. The
analysis of transformer has been carried out using ANSYS software
based on FEM. |
