 Abstract   A fast, accurate, and effective mathematical model for analysing 3-phase fullwave controlled rectifier is presented in this paper. The mathematical model is based on the derivation of an appropriate set of switching functions. Once the switching functions are derived, the output current, input current, output dc voltage, displacement power factor, total harmonic distortion, distortion factor, and the frequency spectrum of the input current can all be easily derived and generated from the application of this technique. This method can also be applied to other types of converters.
