| Abstract |
This paper discusses the effect on the dynamic
characteristics of a forward converter caused by the existence of
an active-clamp circuit. By using the state-space averaged
analysis, the steady-state characteristics and the dynamic
small-signal model of this circuit can be obtained. Accordingly,
the effect of the clamp capacitance on the stability of this
active-clamp forward converter can be investigated. From the
characteristic equation, it is clarified that the clamp capacitance
has no effect on the stability of the active-clamp forward
converter. The experimental results agree well with the
theoretical derivation. |
