Abstract   The paper deals with a dual channel resonant DCDC Buck converter analyzing the high switching frequency region of its operation. In the converter the energy is transmitted through two channels from the input to the output using a switched capacitor. Due to the two channels its application is recommended in the medium or higher power ranges. An advantage of the converter is that in discontinuous current conduction mode (DCM) it can work in soft-switched mode too. A drawback of DCM operation is the higher output voltage ripple and the unfavourable utilization of the power transmission capabilities of its components compared to the continuous current conduction (CCM) operation. The main objective and the original contribution of the current paper are to present the conditions of the operation above the resonant frequency of its inherent ringing circuit, and to represent its beneficial effects. The considerations are verified by simulation results.
