| Abstract |
ONIXä is the standard ALSTOM IGBT converter
range for traction applications. This article explains the new
ONIXä development for 3 kV DC catenary network
applications. Up-to-now the realisation of 3 kV DC railway
converter required specific use of low voltage semi-conductor
to sustain the 3 kV voltage. Now it becomes possible to use the
simple 2-level inverter scheme to realise a 3kV converter for
railway traction. This paper will explain the main choices
and original application for the 3 kV traction converter and
the integration in a cubicle. |
