| Abstract |
The paper describes the architecture and data
communication protocol of a modular microcontroller system
intended for controlling direct current vehicle drives. Under
the supervision of a MASTER controller different logic units
are grouped in one of two ways: bulk or distributed system.
The bulk approach uses parallel data, address and control
buses on a back-plane for the control data and serial
asynchronous data link for the local display unit and/or the
diagnose DCSoft PC program. In a distributed system data
exchange between MASTER and SLAVE controllers takes
place over the serial asynchronous link together with status
and diagnose data. |
